#19 - Philadelphia Eagles 8-8                             Needs WR, TE, DE, OT/G, S, LB
AFATT Mock Draft - First Round
2008 NFL Draft Picks 17-24
They need a WR desperately and they need speed to open up space for
Westbrook, but Andy Reid likes to draft for the future and they will need fresh legs
at CB.  The assumption is that Lito Shepherd will be gone and Jenkins can be
groomed behind Samuel and Brown.
#18 - Houston Texans 8-8                                       Needs CB, RB, WR, S, LOT, G
WR, Texas, 6'4", 219, 4.6
They need playmakers on offense and if McFadden is here they will not let him
pass by.  If he lasts this long, the time in the green room may humble him enough
to limit his chances of being a bust.  CB would be a good choice and as the draft
gets closer these guys will move up draft boards, but for now lets go with RB.
Limas Sweed
#20 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 9-7                          Needs WR, OT, OLB, CB, QB
They need WR help and they can't count on Joey Galloway forever.  Michael
Clayton has yet to fulfill the promise of his strong rookie season.  This pick worries
AFATT because Thomas could be a one year wonder.  Couple that with the JC
start in college and the fact that he is labeled a "big receiver" and not so big...
#21 - Washington Redskins 9-7                                   Needs WR, DE, S, OT, CB
Either wide receiver or DE would be a good move, with Sweed they get the big
receiver to compliment Moss and Randle El.  They need a replacement at safety
and they could use help on the OL if there is value on the board, but if they do not
get the WR here, Calais Campbell would be a good choice.
#22 - Dallas Cowboys 13-3 (from Browns 10-6)        Needs CB, WR, OT, RB, ILB
Jones wants to make a splash and will try to move up.  If he can't then this may be
a good spot for Talib.  He can be mentored by Deion Sanders and he is from the
Dallas area with a strong family unit.  He has some character issues from college
and talks too much, but so did Sanders, so maybe...
#23 - Pittsburgh Steelers 10-6                                Needs OT, C, DE (3-4), G, RB
It looks they will lose Alan Faneca and they have age on the line anyway.  Cherilus
could play guard for a year or two and then eventually step in to one of the OT
positions for many years to come.  They also need help on defense, but that can
wait and they have had success later in the draft with LB and DE.
#24 - Tennessee Titans 10-6                                        Needs WR, CB, TE, LB, OL
They need help at WR but they have had limited success drafting high for this
position in the past.  Pass rushers are always at a premium and this is a reach that
makes sense.  This fits with the Fisher - USC connection and gives them a solid
replacement on the DL for their losses in free agency.
#17 - Minnesota Vikings 8-8                                          Needs DE, WR, S, QB, TE
They have several needs but with Bryant McKinnie's off-field issues and with
Adrian Peterson as your franchise player, getting him more protection makes
sense.  Otah is a mauler.  WR is also a possibility but this is a position that rarely
produces results in the rookie season and there is depth in this draft.
